CoolMini for fat necks and double chins

Fat reduction is in increasing demand and with newer applications of Zeltiq's CoolSculpting, many different sites on the body are amenable to treatment, including most recently, getting rid of that double chin or turkey neck with the CoolMini. Many men and women are coming in because they hate their double chin, wattles, and turkey neck and they have learned of this easy treatment.

In as little as 45 minutes, the applicator successfully freezes the fat in the neck, which causes some of the fat cells to die. The reduction in fat does take some time as the body metabolizes the dead fat cells. If needed, the treatment can be done a second time in four or more weeks. There may be a little swelling for several days but this is a non-invasive treatment. Unlike Kybella injections, CoolSculpting does not require any needles, and we have found, on average, that patients may do one or two CoolMini treatments for the fat in their neck but Kybella requires two to three treatments.

Dr. Shelton and the doctors at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of New York have been using this technology since it evolved. The practice was one of the research sites collecting data about its effectiveness prior to the FDA approval, so we had already gained experience earlier than most doctors in NYC.
